Jill McKnight (b. 1990) is an artist based in Leeds with a studio at Serf. Since graduating from Goldsmiths in 2013 and moving to Leeds in early 2015, Jill has developed a strong studio practice and exhibited in a number of exhibitions, including recently as part of the Great Exhibition of the North in Newcastle, at South London Gallery and the prestigious Saatchi Gallery.
Jill’s sculptural and text based artworks are often playful and ambiguous, appearing as artifacts or props that exist in an imagined future without corporeal human forms, McKnight is interested in investigating what it means to be a maker of physical objects in our contemporary digital society.
For the last six months, Yorkshire Sculpture International has been working with five sculptors from Yorkshire on a programme of mentoring and support to develop their practice.

We explore sculpture with people of all ages, connecting them with the materials and processes used in making sculpture today and showing how sculpture can be found all around us. We are currently working with a group of 25 artists across Yorkshire as part of our 2022 Sculpture Network.
