Since finishing the Associate Artist programme, Rosanne Robertson has been commissioned by Sunderland City Council and Soroptomist International to create their first sculpture in the public realm. Made of painted steel, We Built Ships, will be a legacy to the 700 female shipbuilders who worked in Sunderland during WWII and is to be installed in summer 2020.
Robertson has also relocated to West Cornwall where they were selected as a short term studio holder at Porthmeor Studios, St Ives, and have been enjoying making new sculptural work. Robertson is continuing their work with The Hepworth Wakefield, and will be discussing the Queer body in the landscape at the galleries upcoming Hepworth Research Network event.
