Victoria Lucas

Victoria Lucas is a Sheffield-based artist. She is currently artist-in-residence at Site Gallery in Sheffield as part of the Freelands Artist Programme, and is undertaking a practice-led PhD at Sheffield Hallam University. She is a part-time Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at the University of Central Lancashire.

Her works engage with landscape in a way that revisions female subjectivity. Commissions include a permanent touchscreen artwork for the NHS Wilberforce Health Centre in Hull, a neon artwork for the Leeds Arts University collection and a video artwork for the National Portrait Gallery, London.

Solo shows include Chiara Williams Contemporary at London Art Fair; Airspace Gallery, Stoke-on-Trent; Bloc Projects, Sheffield and Grizzly Grizzly, Philadelphia. She holds a BA in Fine Art Sculpture from Norwich School of Art (2004) and an MFA in Fine Art from The University of Leeds (2007).
